BOOM TALES

The name 'Boom Tales' was sparked from lead singer Ashley Radford's memory of sailing to France with his father, watching the sails for boom tales.

Ashley and Rollo Bergerac met age 16 at a festival. Both hailing from the island of Jersey, a ritual soon formed of long jamming sessions to a view of the rugged coastline, after a day spent in the sea. The more focused venture of Boom Tales begun when Rollo sent a letter from the wild coast line of NZ's south island. Travelling alone, sleeping in his car, following the waves, he'd had a vision that his path was intrinsically connected to creating music together.

The first EP "Chapter I- The Day's Jewels' was recorded 'unplugged' style, reflecting their raw, travel inspired roots. The record featured compelling vocals from actress/musician Eloise L A on songs 'Illuminate' and 'Beyond'.

As they started playing live the bands soundscape expanded, with Andy switching to electric guitar and new members Tom Fromant and Lulla Hartmann bringing bass guitar and drums, showing influence from rock acts Pearl Jam and Jimi Hendrix. The rustic spirit of the band ever present with tribal percussion and often shamanic-esque lyrics.

'Chapter 1- The Day's Jewels' is set for release 27th May, after which the band will focus on touring and a new record.
